Severe Storms Today and Thursday

Please see the attached NWS Green Bay briefing packet regarding the severe weather potential Today and Thursday. This update pertains to the 22 counties in the NWS Green Bay service area of north-central and northeast Wisconsin. Bottom Line Up Front Severe Storm Potential: This Morning: Strong to severe storms over northern WI as line of storms moves in from western WI. Damaging winds the main hazard. This Afternoon-Evening: Multiple rounds of strong to severe storms. All severe weather hazards could occur. Thursday Afternoon-Evening: Scattered strong to severe storms. Damaging winds & large hail the primary hazards. Heavy Rain Potential: Localized heavy rain today through this evening. Risk of flooding will be greatest where repeated rounds of heavy rain occur. Heavy rain for more of the area on Thursday afternoon and evening. Localized risk of flooding. Dangerous Heat Potential: Has become more limited due to the expected multiple rounds of storms. If there is enough of a break between rounds of storms, heat index values could briefly reach the lower 90s this afternoon. Low potential of this though.
