The Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin will be perform the Johnson O’Malley Program that will meet the specialized and
unique, educational, social and cultural needs of our students who meet the eligibility requirements in P.L.
99-228 and 25 C.F.R. p.l. 93-638 as amended.
To meet the specialized and unique educational needs of Indian students attending Public Schools on or near the
Menominee Indian Reservation, who are (3) years of age through grade 12 and have One-quarter (1/4) or more Indian
Blood.
The Menominee Johnson O’Malley Program will be performed by meeting the standards set in Part 271 and Part 273
of the C.F.R. P.L. 93-638 as amended and contained herein and as negotiated by Additional standard – Eligibility.
The Menominee Johnson O’Malley Program student’s eligibility means a student who:
- Is a member of or at least one-fourth degree Indian blood descendant of an Indian Tribe which is eligible
for the special programs and services provided through the Bureau of Indian affairs to Indians because of
their status as Indians:
- Certification by Tribal Official of student’s enrollment number.
- If not on the Tribal roll as a member the student will be certified by BIA or Tribal Official
evidence that the student has a quarter degree through combination of Indian blood from two or more
federally recognized tribes as a quarter or more Indian blood.
- Resides on or near the Menominee Reservation (Menominee Reservation/County, Shawano and Oconto Counties.)
- Is at least 3 years of age and enrolled in some form of education program on or near the Menominee Reservation.
- Is attending grades Kindergarten through grade 12 in the Menominee Public Menominee Indian School District, Menominee
Tribal School, Shawano/Gresham and Suring Public School Districts.
