| Since 1992, the Menominee Tribal Housing Department has provided Emergency Shelter to homeless individuals and families without a decent place to stay, beginning with the Hull property. On April 8, 1998, the Menominee Tribal Housing Department acquired the lease to the old MTE building, which would become the Eagles Nest Emergency Shelter. On October 1, 1999, after much thought and hard work, the Eagle's Nest Emergency Shelter opened its doors to provide assistance to homeless individuals on the Menominee Indian Reservation/County and surrounding areas. The Eagle's Nest Emergency Shelter is a 3 story, 20 room, 30 bed facility, is handicap accessible and provides a shared kitchen, dining room and living room space. |
