Maehnowesekiyah Wellness Center believes in educating community members about the devastating effects of alcohol
and other drugs can have on them, the family, and the community. Maehnowesekiyah Wellness Center and its staff
support many other agencies and community activities that share the same vision. Presentations and activities are held in local communities throughout the entire year to include: dances, candlelit vigil, family fun night, family retreats, family fun fair, Sober 49 and teaching lodges. Special events that occur annually are those in April during which we celebrate AODA Awareness Week with community presentations and activities. In December of each year we coordinate with the aging division for a Christmas Party that is as much anticipated by both Maehnowesekiyah Staff and those elders who attend it. A.C.E.S. programs are offered to the entire community throughout the year. These groups are usually held at Maehnowesekiyah Wellness Center on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. A.C.E.S. classes offer youth as well as adults the opportunity to participate in a variety of culturally rich arts and craft activities as well as hear from local presenters of interest, and participate in culturally relevant activities throughout the community. For more specific information on class times, fees that may be involved, or schedule of activities, please contact the A.C.E.S. Program Coordinator at (715) 799-3835. |
