Adult Education
What is the definition of alcohol use or abuse or dependence? What are the consequences of occasional use of marijuana?
How can using alcohol and other drugs effect my brain? These are some commonly asked questions about alcohol and drugs.
In the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Education Program we answer these questions and many more. Are you really making informed
decisions about your use of alcohol and other drugs? It is in your best interest, the interest of your family and the interest of
your community to know and make informed decisions about the uses of alcohol and drugs. We provide a program of education
and prevention to members of the Menominee Community who have a desire to learn. It is a twelve (12) week program,
meeting once a week in the evening.

Aftercare
As part of the continuum of care, the Adolescent AODA Program uses individual, group, and family counseling to
assist adolescents to achieve and maintain recovery. Also, without ongoing support and understanding, the adolescent
will become at-risk for returning back to their chemical-using lifestyle.

Primary Day Treatment
The Day Treatment program offers intense alcohol and drug treatment to Menominee community members on an outpatient
basis. For six (6) weeks, the participant will take part in group for three hours, four days a week. They will
participate in group therapy, group education, individual sessions, and family therapy. We provide a program that
supports the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the individual's life and how alcohol or other
drugs has compromised their goals and values. Transportation can be arranged for program participants. A completed
assessment and intake are required prior to attending group.

Residential
The Adult Residential Treatment Program is located on the grounds of Maehnowesekiyah, and is operated out of the
original facility in Middle Village. This Nationally Accredited (CARF) Program offers an individual live-in environment
in which to begin a new journey. The Wisconsin State licensed Community Based Residential Facility has a maximum
capacity of sixteen (16) beds, and limits residents to those capable of taking independent action for self-preservation
under emergency conditions.
This program is structured around a combination of the traditional AA model, cultural Native American values, and
recovery lifestyles. Assessments and Diagnosis are used to determine the level of service needed for each client.
Individual treatment plans are designed with client input. Educational and therapeutic counseling in group, individual
and family settings are provided by certified AODA counselors. A master level Social Worker and Psychologist provide
cognitive testing, psychological evaluation, follow-up and ongoing mental health support. The Treatment Center and
clients benefit from the services of an addictionologist and psychiatrist who provide consultation for clients,
pharmocological follow-up, and program consultation.
