The elder nutrition program provides meals Monday through Friday for elders of Menominee County at three
Nutrition Site Centers. Eligibility Any person age 55 years and older or disabled and their spouse may participate in the Nutrition Program at the Senior Centers. Income is not a criteria, however, donations are accepted. Elder Nutrition Sites/Senior Centers The Senior Centers available to the Menominee Elders are located in Keshena (Me cha sha nun), Neopit (Wan a sawik), and in South Branch. The Centers are open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, although hours may vary at each site.
Please call the Center, preferably one day before you plan to attend for a meal, this will help with meal planning and preparation. Informational offerings are presented weekly at the Centers. These presentations include topics of interest to elders as well as intergenerational activities. Fitness activities and nutritional counseling is also available. For those elders who are unable to leave their homes due to disability or illness, the Aging Division through the Nutrition Centers provides home delivered meals. An assessment of need is required initially and then annually as well as a physician's statement verifying a medical need. Please contact the Aging Division to apply for this service. |
