Motion by the Tribal Legislature, fee for Ancillary Roll: $25.00
Mode of Payment should be paid preferably by money order made out to Menominee Indian Tribe.
If you do not meet the eligibility requirements of 1/4 degree Menominee Blood for enrollment on the regular rolls and your
application is denied, you will be sent a document showing that you are a descendant of an enrolled member.
Descendants of enrolled members of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin are being encouraged to apply for enrollment
with the tribe. Your name will be kept on file in the Enrollment Office and placed on the Ancillary Roll if you meet the following
criteria:
Documents Required For The Ancillary Roll
1st Degree descendants must possess 1/8 degree Menominee:
- Original Certified State Birth Certificate with raised Seal.
- This certificate will reflect the identity of your parents to determine your descendency.
2nd Degree descendants must possess 1/16 degree Menominee:
- Two (2) Certified State Birth Certificates are required: Yours/Parents Certified State Birth Certificates.
- This certificate will make it easier to trace your parent/parents as being descendants of enrolled member(s).
The same rule applies for children born out of wedlock and adopted children:
- Out of Wedlock – Court paternity must be established.
- In order to ascertain the eligibility of a child born out of wedlock for enrollment, the paternity of the child shall be
established by (1) paternity proceedings in any competent court of general jurisdiction, or (2) by DNA testing of those
claiming to be the biologic parents of the person seeking enrollment. Provided, however, one (1) or two (2) shall be
proof of entitlement to be enrolled, not both.
Adoptee:
- Original Certificate of Live Birth.
- Court Adoption Record and Certified photocopy of the Amended Birth Certificate.
- If the natural father is not listed on the Original Birth Certificate, court paternity must be established.
If married, female applicants please submit your marriage license along with the application. All certified documents will be
returned to the applicant after being reviewed by the Enrollment Committee.
When various departments apply for grants, this ancillary roll will be helpful, as some departments assist descendants. The
departments will have a figure to use in their grant applications.
