Mission Statement
The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, Licensing and Permit Department provide service to Menominee's and other residents of the Menominee Nation Reservation. Our primary goal is to ensure the residents comply with licenses and permits as specified through Tribal Ordiances and keep them abreast of all new adopted Ordinance established by Menominee Tribal Legislature that is adhered to by the Licensing and Permit Department.
 
Department Overview
In 1981, the Menominee Indian Tribe was the first tribe in Wisconsin to enter into a reciprocity agreement with the State of Wisconsin. It operates in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation - Division of Motor Vehicle and is subject to follow Tribal Ordinance 85-21 regarding licensing and registration. It is a full service Licensing department that provides:

Menominee Nation License Plates
Vehicle Titles and Registration
Transferring of Menominee Nation plates from one vehicle to another
Renewal of Menominee Nation Plates
Cancellation of State plates when transferring to tribal plates.
